The BMW Group presents a remarkable two-seater sports car, the BMW Concept Touring Coupé (also known as the shooting brake cocnept), which pays homage to BMW’s iconic designs while seamlessly integrating contemporary elements found in the company’s current lineup.

A notable feature of this car is its shooting brake concept, a term denoting wagonette versions of coupes that reinterpret the bespoke body shape.
“The BMW Concept Touring Coupé celebrates the original Sheer Driving Pleasure. This highly emotive vehicle underscores the enduring significance of driving pleasure and its timeless appeal throughout history and into the future,” remarks Domagoj Dukec, head of BMW Design.

The BMW Concept Touring Coupé seamlessly blends traditional body aesthetics with cutting-edge sports car technology. Its proportions and nomenclature draw inspiration from the victorious BMW 328 Touring Coupé, which triumphed in the esteemed Mille Miglia race in 1940. Additionally, the shooting-brake concept pays tribute to the distinguished BMW 02 Series models of the 1970s, distinguished by the “Touring” appellation that distinguishes them from their sedan counterparts.

Only 464 examples of the 328 touring coupe were ever produced while this modern rendition is slated for just one real-world unit. As it stands, BMW has not alluded to the possibility of developing a handful of road-going versions of the Z4 based shooting-brake concept, however, if it were ever green-lit for production, the clown shoe-esque would likely only be offered to a handful of cherry-picked customers and key individuals.
The meticulously handcrafted exterior design showcases an exquisitely sculpted rear end that harmoniously merges with the flowing roof contours and rear side panels. Noteworthy BMW-typical shooting-brake proportions are evident in the elongated bonnet, streamlined roofline, and robust rear section, exuding a sense of visual impact and sporting prowess.

The unique Sparkling Lario exterior paintwork with blue glass flakes creates a distinctive depth, complemented by silver-bronze accents and a specially designed kidney grille. The 20-spoke radial design of the exclusive light-alloy wheels accentuates the car’s elegant yet sporty character.

Inside, the BMW Concept Touring Coupé showcases a driver-oriented cockpit with meticulous attention to materials and craftsmanship. The bi-colour interior by Poltrona Frau divides the space into two sections, providing concentration and comfort. Precise perforations and braided leather straps enhance the artisan character of the interior. The luggage, exclusively designed by Schedoni leather workshop, consists of a coordinated weekender and garment bags, demonstrating the leather workshop’s superb quality and skill.
