“I am happy to be back and do what I can for the brand that is close to my heart” says Ian McLaren on his Editoral Director position at CAR Magazine.

McLaren will oversee all print and digital functions, collaborating with Print Editor Damian Adams and Digital Editor Alex Shahini, plotting the brand’s strategic evolution, and being the point-person for manufacturers.

Having started at the publication at 22 years old and straight out of university, McLaren’s first role with the publication was assistant photographer. It was one he soon rose from, becoming a key photographer for CAR Magazine not long thereafter.

He later developed his writing, after being groomed by some of the best industry professionals. His career trajectory then saw him become Senior Associate Editor. McLaren explains that his photojournalism career had morphed into 80% writing and only 20% photography – something that he thoroughly enjoys.
